I have studied piano and music theory through the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, Canada, from age 7 all the way through high school. Since graduating college, I have played piano and organ for weddings and funerals. I have also arranged hymns and medleys that have been regularly performed by church orchestras.
This original composition is a suite of five short pieces, collectively called "Het Poppenspel" (The Puppet Show). Each piece musically tells the story of a different puppet in the puppet show.
I originally wrote these songs decades ago as short 8- or 16-bar piano passages. I recently uncovered them this year, and decided to lengthen them and add strings. The pieces in the suite are now arranged for two violins, viola, cello, bass, and piano.
